DIY: Earring display

Hi gorgeous!

Lately i have been getting super frustrated with my jewellery bowl stacked high with earrings, necklaces and rings galore. It was so hard to find what i was looking for and things were beginning to get damaged.
It was time for something new!

I came across these on Urban Outfitters which i thought were gorgeous, especially the pink ribbon one, but when i looked at the price (£25 and £30) i decided to get my thinking cap on and come up with something DIY so give my purse a break.

This is what i came up with.

How i did it

You will need:
1 Picture frame (any size will work but i used A4)
1 Glue gun and glue sticks
1 Pair of scissors
Felt ( I forgot to put this in the picture d'oh!)

First of all take the back and glass or plastic out of the picture frame and lay the back onto the lace
You can discard the glass or plastic as it is not needed.
Now cut round the back of the picture frame leaving a 1-2 inch boarder.

You could now put a patterned piece of fabric between the lace and the back of the picture frame however the wood colour matched my bedroom perfect so i just left it as it was.

Now using the glue gun you need to fold all 4 corners inwards.

Next, fold the bottom and top of the lace around the corners inwards to create a fully covered corner like you can see in the above picture.

Now fold over each edge of the lace making sure it is nice and tight and glue it all down, it should now look something like the picture above.

Take the felt and cut a piece about 0.5 inches smaller than the back of the picture frame.

Cut around any areas that should be and glue into position. Don't worry if it looks a bit messy, it doesn't matter, this is the back and won't be seen.

Finally fix the back of the picture frame back together with the front and VOILA, time to organise those earrings girl!

This is SO easy and quick to make, (it only took me about 20 minutes at the most) i think i will be making another one in the near future.

Total cost - £3.50!!

So, what do you think? Pretty fab right?
Going to give it a go?
Make sure to show me what you come up with and i will post it on my blog in a future post!
